  Why Should You Vote?

They must do this duty, or else only selfish and incompetent persons may get elected...

Although universal adult franchise entitles every adult, who has attained the age of 18, to vote, not all the citizens of the country exercise this right. Some people do not take the trouble of going to the polling booth and casting their vote out of laziness, others think ‘what do I gain out of this’. Also, these are those who feel that non-voting will make no appreciable difference. Sometimes, a voter feels that as he knows none of the candidates, he is not interested in the victory or defeat of any of them. The result of all this is that at times, not even half of the citizens exercise their right to vote. They do not realise that casting the vote at the time election is not only their right but also their duty.

They must do this duty, or else only selfish and incompetent persons may get elected.
