The scheme is run for the benefit of primary school children enrolled in Municipal Schools. This is a Central Government scheme.

• Children in classes 1-5 receive cooked meals at lunchtime.
• In places, where cooked meals and processed foods are not available, each child is eligible to receive 3 kilos of food grains (wheat, rice) a month.
