Soyabean is rich in protein and oil.
 

 

Soyabean is rich in protein and oil. It is cultivated on a large scale for grain, forage, oil production and as a reen manure crop. The protein content is nearly twice that of other pulses.

Climatic requirements:

Minimum temperature for growth = 100 C
Optimum temperature for growth = 26.5-300 C

It is a short day plant. it tolerates water stagnation, but not drought.

Improved varieties
Ankur - good germination, rust resistant, high yielding
Alankar - medium tall, high yielding, early maturing
Shilajeet - early maturing
Birsa soyabean -1 - erect type
PK-262 - heigh yielding, resistant to yellow mosiac
