MCU 5 and Hybrid cotton (hybrid 4) have made significant contribution towards higher production and better quality (MCU 5 for quality & hybrid 4 for production).

Seed treatment:

To make sowing the seeds easy, the fuzz sticking to the seeds should not interfere. This is made possible by mixing the seeds with wet red earth or cow dung. The seeds are spread on a hard floor and the red earth or cow dung mixed with water and sprinkled on the seeds. The seeds are then rubbed gently till the fibers on the seeds get rolled up. Then the seeds are dried in the sun for 1-2 hrs and then sown.
